Successful management of diabetes requires the combined effort of a properly informed patient, along with the support team including endocrinologists and nurse practitioners. It is this team approach that has proven so successful in our many years of practice.
We focus on intensive management of diabetes by striving for optimal glucose control. We monitor for complications associated with diabetes including retinopathy (eye disease), nephropathy (kidney disease), and neuropathy (nerve disease). Endocrinology Medical Group of Orange County uses all available methods for delivery of insulin (if needed) including pens and external pumps of many different varieties. We customize regimens and delivery systems to the specific needs of our patients; we strive to be practical and realistic and work with you to be successful.
We continually monitor new developments to ensure that we offer the most up-to-date methods for diabetes management. We frequently run clinical trials on cutting-edge medications and procedures. Classes on new procedures are offered frequently. Dr. Shah lectures locally and statewide on diabetes management and guidelines.
This is an active part of our practice and we work with your obstetrician and numerous hospital-based programs in managing your diabetes before and during pregnancy.
